The action culminates at the most emblematic cobbled path of the region: the Ladder of Javelaina. Walking literally over the gorge, we will be led to the Acheron Springs, the real “Gate of Hades”. We start a 30-minute hike to the castle of Kiafa. The fort offers unparalleled views of the rugged landscape and the gorge and plain where the Acheron River flows.
A stop for refreshment and relaxation at the picturesque Water Mills for coffee or traditional tsipouro under the century-old plane trees.
We follow the historic trail that offers the best vantage points high above the riverbed.
